Pass-Through Embodiment (PTE) on IEEE VR 2025
I am pleased that our work has been accepted for publication in the Additionally, our paper received an
Our proposed method ๐ฃ๐ฎ๐๐-๐ง๐ต๐ฟ๐ผ๐๐ด๐ต ๐๐บ๐ฏ๐ผ๐ฑ๐ถ๐บ๐ฒ๐ป๐ (๐ฃ๐ง๐) uses per-eye depth maps from modern Head-Mounted Displays with video pass-through to integrate users’ real bodies without additional hardware. This was evaluated in a study with 40 participants, where PTE significantly enhances presence and embodiment without affecting performance, cognitive load, or VR sickness, despite minor visual artifacts. Therefore, PTE offers a practical ๐ฎ๐น๐๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ป๐ฎ๐๐ถ๐๐ฒ ๐๐ผ ๐ฎ๐๐ฎ๐๐ฎ๐ฟ-๐ฏ๐ฎ๐๐ฒ๐ฑ ๐บ๐ฒ๐๐ต๐ผ๐ฑ๐ for self-representation in virtual reality.
Many thanks to my co-authors Constantin Kleinbeck, Arnulph Fuhrmann and Daniel Roth for supporting me and my work. I look forward to continuing this journey and pushing the boundaries of AR and VR innovation even further ๐!
